Microsoft: Consolidating Staff Into The Head Office
01
The Challenge
Microsoft Japan approached Cushman & Wakefield to provide project management services, and consolidate their 650 employees in Chofu into their headquarters in Shinagawa.
Additionally, we were tasked to close the Chofu office space and restack their work area in the Shinagawa City Building, comprising six floors with 1,890 square metres per floor.
02
The Solution
In deciding the layout, we created a stacking plan based on interviews with stakeholders. One of our considerations was the relationship between the entire company and each department.
In terms of tendering and cost management, we created a request for proposal based on the client's intention and tendered fair bidding.
Although this project lasted for more than a year, we carried it out on schedule, with no major delays due to our process management and construction management.
We also synchronised construction schedule management, staging, and logistics in both the Chofu and Shinagawa locations to ensure efficient use of resources. This was done through consistent communication and appointing a project manager for each location.
03
The Result
Not only did Cushman & Wakefield meet the client’s expectations in the project, but our efforts were also commended by Microsoft.
