About
With 20 years of experience in China, Shaun Brodie has a deep understanding of the country and its property market. In his role as Head of Occupier Research for the Greater China region, Shaun works closely with Cushman & Wakefield's Occupier Services Group in China and its Global Occupier Services Group to produce timely whitepapers for the company's occupier clients. Recent topics covered include Blockchain and its impact on commercial property, lease accounting changes, green leasing and industry sector office demand-related reports.
In his role as Head of Business Development Services, East China, Shaun leads thought-leadership deliverables on the property sector in Shanghai and in the major second-tier cities within the Yangtze River Delta region.
In his role as Head of Content, Greater China, Shaun produces whitepapers on the latest trends influencing the property market in the region. Recent papers have focused on smart cities in China, urban renewal in China, China’s ‘new’ economy, experiential real estate in China, and carbon neutrality in China.
Education
Shaun holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of London and a Master of Science degree in Surveying from the University of Reading. He is a member of the Royal Institution and the Chartered Institute of Building, and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Affiliations
As a member of the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute in China, and as a past Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce’s Construction Working Group in China and as a past Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Real Estate and Construction Committee in Shanghai, Shaun is a regular guest speaker at property-related seminars and conferences. He also contributes articles to trade publications, journals and newspapers pertaining to his areas of expertise.
